What kitchen chimney service and repair cost in Nellore

The rate card for chimney work — deep clean, filter swap, suction diagnosis, installation, removal — plus how parts are priced and what a quote must show.

3 min read · Updated 19 August 2026

Chimney work in Nellore is priced by job, not by the hour. A deep clean of the motor, fan and filters is ₹499. A baffle or mesh filter replacement is ₹699. A weak-suction job — motor check and duct clearance — is ₹499. A new installation with the mount, duct run and power is ₹799, and taking an existing chimney down with the duct capped off is ₹399.

Those figures are labour and workmanship. Parts, filters and ducting material are separate, charged at MRP, and shown to you before anything is fitted.

The rate card

Job What it covers Price
Auto-clean service Motor, fan and filter deep clean ₹499
Filter replacement Baffle or mesh filter swap ₹699
Suction weak Motor check, duct clearance ₹499
New installation Chimney mount, duct run, power ₹799
Uninstallation Safe removal, duct cap-off ₹399

Which job to book

Book the service (₹499) if the chimney works but is louder, weaker or smellier than it was, or if it is simply due — twice a year is the sensible interval for a kitchen that fries and tempers daily.

Book the suction job (₹499) if you have already washed the filters and the airflow is still poor. This is a diagnosis, so it goes further into the duct and the motor rather than assuming a clean will fix it.

Book the filter replacement (₹699) if the filters are corroded, bent, torn or so clogged that washing no longer restores them. Old aluminium mesh filters are the usual candidates.

Book the installation (₹799) for a new chimney, or when an existing one has to be re-mounted at the right height or re-ducted.

Book the uninstallation (₹399) when you are moving house or replacing the unit and want the old opening capped so it does not become a route for insects and rain.

What a deep clean should include

If a "service" is ten minutes of wiping the hood, it was not a service. A proper one covers:

  • Filters removed, soaked and washed, or flagged for replacement.
  • Blower wheel taken off and cleaned of hardened grease.
  • Motor housing and the inside of the hood cleaned.
  • Oil collector cup and its channel cleared.
  • Duct outlet and the non-return flap checked for blockage.
  • Auto-clean heating plate cleaned, where fitted.
  • Mounting and fixings checked, unit run at all speeds afterwards.

Ask for the blower wheel specifically. It is the item most often skipped and the one that matters most for suction and noise.

About parts

Chimney parts that come up in practice are the run capacitor, the motor, bearings, the switch or touch panel, the lamp, the non-return flap and ducting. We do not publish part prices because they differ by brand and model, and quoting a figure before seeing the unit would be a guess. What we do commit to is that the part is genuine, charged at MRP, and shown to you with the price before it goes in.

Keeping the cost down

The cheapest chimney is the one that never needs a part. In practice that means washing filters every two to four weeks, emptying the oil cup every two to three weeks, running the auto-clean cycle if you have one, and booking the deep clean twice a year rather than when the noise gets bad. Grease is what kills chimney motors, and grease is the one variable entirely in your control.

One more local factor worth spending on: evening voltage dips are common across Nellore in summer, and a motor that starts under low voltage ages its capacitor faster. If your chimney routinely struggles to start in the evening, mention it at service time so the capacitor gets checked while the unit is open.

What should be in the quote

A part named, a price against it, the labour rate from the card, and the total. If a quote is a single round number with no breakup, ask for the breakup before you approve it.

Questions people ask

Is the price fixed before the technician starts?
Yes. The technician diagnoses the fault first, then gives you a written quote covering labour and any part. Work begins only after you approve it. Parts are charged at MRP and shown to you before they are fitted, so nothing appears on the bill that you have not seen.
Do I pay if I decide not to go ahead with the repair?
You pay for the job you booked, which for a diagnosis-type booking covers the technician's time and the inspection. You are free to decline the repair itself. There is no advance payment at any stage — you pay after the work is done.
Is a deep clean cheaper if I have already washed the filters?
No, the rate is the same. The deep clean is priced for the motor and blower work, which is the part that takes the time. Washing your own filters between services still helps, though: it keeps airflow up and slows the grease reaching the wheel.
