A microwave repair in Nellore costs ₹399 for any fault, not heating included, on our rate card, plus parts at MRP if any are needed. That covers the visit, the diagnosis and the labour. Here is exactly what each line buys, what is charged on top, and how to make sure you pay once rather than twice.

The rate card

Fault What the visit covers Price
Not Heating Discharge capacitor; test magnetron, capacitor, diode ₹399
Turntable Fault Motor, coupler, tray and roller-ring fix ₹399
Sparking Inside Find arcing point, clean, replace waveguide cover ₹399
Noisy Operation Motor, fan, loose-part fix ₹399
Not Starting Door switch, fuse, control board diagnosis ₹399

Parts are extra, at MRP, and shown to you before fitting. There is no advance payment. The repair carries a written 30-day warranty on the labour and the specific fault fixed.

What "parts at MRP" means in practice

Microwave parts fall into three price bands, and knowing which band your fault is in tells you roughly what to expect before the technician opens the cover.

Small parts. Waveguide cover, turntable coupler, roller ring, door switch, internal fuse, diode. These are inexpensive and usually carried on the van. Most ₹399 jobs finish with one of these.

Medium parts. Turntable motor, cooling fan, high-voltage capacitor, grill heating element, keypad membrane. Still modest, sometimes ordered for your model.

Expensive parts. The magnetron, the high-voltage transformer, the control board. These are where the repair-or-replace question arrives, and the technician will put the MRP in front of you before ordering.

We do not print part prices because they vary by brand, model and capacity; a 20-litre solo and a 32-litre convection do not share a magnetron. The rule is that you see the price before the part is fitted, and you can say no.

How to avoid paying twice

A few things make a microwave repair cost more than it should.

Replacing a fuse without finding why it blew. The internal fuse often blows because a door switch has failed and shorted on purpose — that is how the safety circuit works. Fit a fuse, and it blows again on the next cycle. A proper Not Starting diagnosis checks the switches first.

Cleaning a burnt waveguide cover instead of replacing it. Once the mica has carbonised it will arc again within days. The cover is a cheap part; fit a new one.

Running a sparking oven until it is looked at. The spark that was a ₹399 cover job becomes a magnetron job. Stop at the first spark.

Running an oven with weak heating for months. It costs you power every day — twice the time for the same cup of tea — and a slowly failing magnetron can take the diode with it.

Booking the wrong fault. If the oven runs but does not heat, book Not Heating, not Noisy, so the technician arrives expecting the high-voltage side. If it is dead, book Not Starting. It saves a second visit.

When the visit is the whole cost

A share of calls end without a part at all. The tray was not seated. Child lock was on. The socket was dead. The power level was left at 10 percent. The plate had a gold rim. In those cases the visit fee is what you pay, which is why our safe-checks guide is worth ten minutes before you book.

Where a repair stops making sense

If the part price plus labour is close to the price of a comparable new oven, the technician should say so. As a rough guide: for an oven under six years with a clean cavity, a magnetron is worth fitting; for one past eight years with rust or a tired door, it usually is not; for a convection oven, the balance tilts towards repair because there is more oven to save. Our repair-or-replace guide goes through this properly.

What you should expect from the visit

The technician should switch off and unplug before opening anything, discharge the capacitor before touching the high-voltage side, show you the failed part and the new one, and give you the price in writing before fitting. You pay when the oven is working and you are satisfied, and the 30-day warranty is written, not verbal. If any of that is missing, ask.

Questions people ask

Is a not-heating fault priced differently from the others?
No — every microwave fault is the same ₹399 for the visit, the diagnosis and the labour. Not heating simply takes longer, because it involves the high-voltage side: the technician must discharge the capacitor, then test the magnetron, capacitor and diode separately with a meter to find which has failed. Same price, more care.
Does the ₹399 include the part?
No. The rate card price is the visit, the diagnosis and the labour. Parts are charged at MRP and the technician shows you the part and its price before fitting it. You approve the total before any work starts, and you pay nothing in advance.
What if the technician finds it is not worth repairing?
You should be told that plainly, with the part price in front of you, before anything is ordered. The diagnosis visit is what you pay for in that case. You then decide with real numbers rather than a guess, which is usually cheaper than either a blind repair or a blind replacement.
